Goleta Union School District Reentry for Schools 2020-21 Report

The Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic has radically altered our lives and the way we interact with one another. The school environment has and will continue to be impacted for the foreseeable future until we have a vaccine, or we achieve herd immunity. During that time, the District and each of our schools will take all reasonable measures to protect the health of our students and staff.

The purpose and intent of the Re-entry plan is to provide for a smooth and safe reopening of school in the Fall on August 19, 2020. The District is committed to balancing the health and safety of its students, staff, and families while continuing to provide a top tier educational program. Our intent is to optimize instructional time and support the social and emotional needs of our students and staff.

This plan is based on the various guidelines issued by the California Department of Education (CDE Reentering Schools Guidelines), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the Santa Barbara County (SBC) Public Health Department (PHD).
