Holly Errasseret (virtual academy)
Ms. Erassarret grew up in Bakersfield, CA, "the country music capital of the West Coast." As a child she enjoyed staying up late with her mother and creating elaborate models for science and social studies projects.
A proud graduate of Westmont College, where she earned her degree in education, Ms. Erasserret is a first generation college graduate.
Ms. Erassarret enjoys the staff at IV, as well as the sights from the campus, especially seeing the mountains turn purple as the sun sets.
In her spare time, Ms. Erassarret enjoys playing tennis and cooking for friends and family.
“America’s Finest City,” San Diego, CA, is the hometown of Mrs. Fletcher. From San Diego, Mrs. Fletcher ventured up the California coast to San Francisco before heading back down to Santa Barbara. She attended Cal State Channel Islands and earned her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies- Teaching and Learning (with a minor in Chicana/o Studies). Mrs. Fletcher followed that up by earning her teaching credential and master’s degree from UCSB.
Mrs. Fletcher is both a teacher and parent at I.V. School, as both her children are current Seahawks. She’s grateful for the kindness, compassion, creativity, positivity, and diversity that are hallmarks of I.V. School community, students, and staff.
In her spare time, Mrs. Fletcher enjoys spending time with her family (Mr. Fletcher and their children), viewing and making art, enjoying nature, history, and reading.
Mr. Senzamici is a Santa Barbara native who loves taking advantage of all that our area has to offer. He is an avid hiker and cyclist, who loves to get lost on his motorcycle or mountain bike loaded up with camping gear. He has two children who attend Isla Vista elementary, and has been known to (unfortunately) bring his dad jokes into the classroom.
“Mr. S” has his master’s degree in education technology, and utilizes an array of technology in innovative ways to help make his students global 21st century learners and citizens. He also has several clubs he maintains throughout the year such as cardboard engineering, technology disassemblers, bicycle maintenance, and more. Mr Senzamici is the coordinator for the UCSB tutoring program that pairs Isla Vista kids with UCSB students, as well as the coordinator for the student run annual Rummage Sale fundraiser at IV.
Ms. Young enjoyed growing up in Santa Barbara and attending local schools. As a child, she was active in tennis and music, playing the piano and violin. After high school, she attended Biola University and received a degree in business but quickly realized that her love was in education. She then went to California State University, Northridge to get her teaching credential and soon after began teaching in Carpinteria.
During her tenure in Carpinteria, she taught grades 3-5. Moving to GUSD in 2016, she began teaching 6th grade for the first time and fell in love with the grade level and the students! Sixth graders are the best! There are many things she loves about Isla Vista School. She loves the camaraderie between the teachers and loves her grade level teammates. She also loves the community of families and students that creates the perfect blend of so many cultures and experiences. This unique family of Seahawks is what makes Isla Vista an amazing school.
